SPS trade in Sheep and Cattle sourcing quality stock from the Borders, Peebleshire, Lothians and Northumberland and selling throughout the UK. SPS market the complete range of sheep and cattle including Prime, Store and Breeding.

Alan is a married man with 3 children who on leaving school joined John Swan Auction Market for 3 years and then moved on to Reston Auction Market for a further 14 years where he was appointed Principal Sheep Auctioneer with additional responsibility for Fat, Store and Breeding Cattle. During these years Alan learned all there is to know about Sheep and Cattle and gathered an extensive network of supply and demand contacts. In his spare time Alan is an enthusiastic horse rider whose current project is bringing out a young horse to event.

He prides himself on using his experience and expertise to select stock the right stock and sell it to the most suitable outlet. SPS works with a computerised administration system which provides a copy of the Bills, Invoices, Grade Sheets and Payment Sheets for individual animals. Alan is also a qualified Agricultural Valuer with experience in completing valuations for an extensive range of purposes. In addition we have expertise in preparing and conducting of on-farm auctions for both livestock and machinery.
